Track your snoring with breathing pauses which are caused by sleep apnea
SnoreTracker: snoring with breathing pauses may be hazardous to your health! Snoring pauses are caused by sleep apnea. SnoreTracker algorithms are validated in 200 sleep apnea patients.
Sleep apnea is a known riskfactor for several diseases and medical conditions. Snoring with breathing pauses is also a riskfactor for stroke and neurological conditions. SnoreTracker is developed and validated in a study of apnea patients to detect snoring with pauses. If snoring is only when sleeping on the back (supine), it may be stopped using positional therapy. SnoreTracker may be used to give smart position therapy and to follow the effect of treatments.
Instructions:
1. Measurement without the sleeping position: Set the mobile as near as possible on the bed, on the table.
2. In the morning give the sleeping and wakening times, delays.
3. If there are yellow or red indicators of snoring present in the results, you should repeat the measurement 3 – 5 – 7 times. Sleep alone with no disturbing noise present (snoring of your spouse, air-conditioning etc)!
4. If there are yellow or red indicators you should repeat the measurement with position measure. Set the mobile or connected Android watch on your chest, arm, ankle during the sleep.
5. Repeat again 3 – 5 – 7- times. If the red indicators of snoring is mainly when sleeping on the back (supine) the positional therapy should help. Repeat the measurements and avoid to sleep on the backusing the smart positional therapy of SnoreTracker with levels settings 1-3 or set a clothespin or tennis ball fixed to back of your pyjama shirt. If the results are better (green indicator) you should follow the effects of the positional treatment with reapeated measuremts (weeks-months).
6. If there is snoring, snoring with pauses in all positions or you have some symptoms of a sleep disorders (eg sleep apnea), you should contact medical personnel.
